This is the next painting in the series of places my husband and I visited. We visited Ginko State Park here in Washington in May of 2023. Jim loved to travel. He was constantly planning our next trip. Or 3. Or 4.
This painting, like the last one, I’m pretty much copying the photo, without much interpretation. This painting was done in December, 5 months ago. I am trying to move away from faithful copying of the photos. I am moving towards a more impressionistic approach and trying to push the color.
I made a commitment to myself to do 100 paintings, in 100 days. Small paintings. Right now I’m doing 6″x8″‘ sizes and trying not to take more than an hour. I am on day 3 and haven’t done one yet today, but I should get it done after dinner. I want to finish posting the paintings in this series (there are only 3 more currently) before posting those.
I have more to post as well. Not blogging for so long got me way far behind.
