I completed this painting April 19, 2025. It is currently the last one in the series I’ve been painting of places Jim and I visited in the last 20 or so years. I will probably do more, but not right now.
We came up I 395 from California to Washington. Mono Lake was one of the stops we stayed at along the way. It was sunny and warm and we went for a long walk to the visitor’s center. By the time we got there it was cold and pouring rain. I was wearing shorts and a tank top. I bought a t-shirt at the visitor’s center. Of course they didn’t have jackets or sweatshirts.
So that lesson was learned. Always bring a jacket. And never wear shorts (what was I thinking?).
