Here are a couple of my better landscapes. The first one is from early last year and the second one is from early this year. Neither of them are where I want to be with my painting. I find the colors to be a bit bland.
The first one, with the forest path, I just noticed some compositional problems. The path ends almost dead center in the painting. I know better than to do that. That was carelessness. Also there is a tree leading the eye right out of the picture.
I’ve been painting a bunch and have had some breakthroughs and some disasters. Once I’m sure of my direction, I’m redoing the forest path painting.
